Scenic, tasty running event for whole families
For many runners running can be part of relaxing and enjoyment of surrounding landscapes. But what result we will achieve when we will add such elements as delicious local food on aid stations, forest trails just next to lakeshore and the cleanest region in Poland? The answer is: Maraton Wigry!
At the last weekend of August in north-east part of Poland, which is called Suwalszczyzna, will take place one of the most unique running event. Surroundings of Wigry Lake with Wigry National Park which has plenty of marvellous views, makes course not achievable for beating your personal record. Aid stations with plenty of local specialties won’t let you leave them so fast, natural trails partially made of unique long wooden footbridges hanged above swamps are located mainly just next to lake shore. Running in such scenery will be great amusement!
Suwalszczyzna region is lovely region, a little bit wild but with plenty of tourist facilities. You can find hospitable agrotourism farms, lovely pensions or camp sites located in nice location. Region offers many attractions for everyone. During Maraton Wigry event each member of family will be satisfied with such attractions as Festival of Local Flavours, concerts, playground for children with animators. Wooden saunas and bathing tubs will be waiting for you not only for regeneration!
Registration for the event will be open till the end of July. You can choose from two distances: 42 km of Maraton Wigry course just around the lake and 13 km of Pogoń za Bobrem (Beaver Chase) course. Take your family with friends and try one of the most tasty and beautiful marathon in the world!
